1. Cut a rectangle piece of material 38 inches long and 20 inches wide. Cut a second piece of material 18 inches long and 4 inches wide. |
Try to make it as even as possible but if you can't then don't worry too much about it as long as you are close it should turn out.
2. Fold in half lengthwise and make sure the material is inside out and sew down the side. Do this to both pieces of fabric. |
When both are done being sewn : Turn the smaller piece the right side out and set to the side to use later.
While still inside out fold down the ends about 2 inches and sew them all the way around leaving only about 2 fingers size not sewn shut. Do this to both ends of the larger piece of material. |
Cut 4 inches of elastic and thread through the bottom of your bag and sew shut when your done. |
Now that your handle is attached to your bag it is time to. . .
Cut another piece of elastic this one being 6 inches long. Thread it through the top of the bag and sew it in place. |
Now that everything is sewn it is time to turn your bag right side out. |
At our home My Mom is going to use it in the baby's room for those dirty diapers. She can pull out one trash sack at a time when she changes my sisters diaper and wrap them in the smaller bags before she puts them in the larger trash can. That way it keeps the smells down.
